Strong Showing from Grantees at 12U Lexus Clay Court Championships
Congratulations to Tomas Gabor, who was crowned Boys’ 12U Champion at the prestigious Lexus Clay Court Championships held at West Hants Club. Tomas delivered a strong performance in the final, defeating fellow Tennis First grantee Cameron Rae 6–3, 6–4.
It was a particularly proud moment for Tennis First as all four boys’ semi-finalists, Tomas Gabor, Cameron Rae, Matyas Oprchal and Seb Beetlestone are current grantees. Their presence at the sharp end of such a high-level national event speaks volumes about the quality and potential of the young players we support.
In the Girls’ 12U draw, grantee Coco Witton reached the final after a fantastic run, eventually falling in a hard-fought three-set match against Emma Fu, 7–6, 3–6, 6–1. Fellow grantee Evie Pritchard also enjoyed an excellent tournament, reaching the semi-finals after a strong week of tennis.
This event brought together the best 12U talent in the country, and it was inspiring to see our grantees competing with such skill and determination. Their performances are a testament to the hard work they continue to put in on and off the court.
As the summer season continues at pace, many of our young players are now heading straight from West Hants to compete in Tennis Europe events abroad. We’re proud of all they’ve achieved so far and wish them the very best for the next stage of their journey.
