James Story Clinches title in Sheffield

Another former grantee celebrated a home triumph last week as James Story captured the men’s singles title at the Lexus British Pro Series Sheffield, capping a breakthrough tournament with a hard-fought win in the final.

James, who has been steadily climbing the ITF ranks, battled past fellow former grantee Anton Matusevich 6–2, 3–6, 7–6(4) in a dramatic final that kept everyone watching on edge until the final point. The victory marks the second ITF singles title of the 24-year-old’s career and a significant milestone in what has been one of his most consistent seasons to date.

James showcased both grit and flair throughout the week, defeating the first, fourth and sixth seeds in straight sets on his way to the championship. The triumph pushes his ranking to a career high just outside the world’s top 450. Keep going James, congrats on a great week.
