Mimi Xu Stuns in Wrexham

18 year old former grantee Mimi Xu produced a magnificent string of performances in front of a home crowd to claim both the singles and doubles titles at the Lexus Wrexham Open.

Mimi defeated fellow rising star Mika Stojsavljevic 6–3, 7–5 in front of a sellout crowd. The victory secured the W100 title, the biggest of her career so far and her first singles trophy of the 2025 season.

In a display of versatility and composure, Mimi returned to court later in the day to partner Ella McDonald in the women’s doubles final. The pair overcame Amarni Banks and Valentina Ryser 6–2, 6–4 to complete her remarkable Wrexham double.

Mimi’s Wrexham triumph marks another important milestone in her rapid rise through the ranks. With her poise, power and growing confidence, the young Welsh player looks set to become a major force on the international stage in 2025 and beyond. Well done Mimi!
