Grantees Shine at Lexus Grass Court Championships 2026
Tennis First grantees enjoyed an outstanding week at the 11U Lexus Grass Court Championships in Frinton-on-Sea, delivering impressive performances despite challenging heat and difficult playing conditions.
In the boys' event, 2026 grantee Henry Momot claimed the 11U Lexus Grass Court Championships title in dominant fashion, winning every match in straight sets on his way to lifting the trophy. Demonstrating excellent composure and adaptability, Henry thrived on the grass courts despite limited opportunities to compete on the surface throughout the year.
Fellow grantee Hunter Henderson also enjoyed a strong tournament run, reaching the semi-finals before narrowly losing a hard-fought three-set encounter.
The boys' doubles competition featured an all-grantee final. Henry Momot and Maxime Gaugry battled hard but were defeated by the second seeds Zac Hartono and Hunter Henderson, who secured the title with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory.
In the girls' event, Natalia Balanel captured the 11U title after an impressive three-set victory over fellow grantee Harriet Graham, winning 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in a high-quality final. The semi-finals also showcased the strength of the Tennis First grantees, with Chayah Falola and Jaela Jarvis challenging the tournament's top two seeds and gaining valuable experience on grass.
Natalia and Harriet then joined forces in the doubles event, where they completed a successful week by claiming the girls' doubles title.
The performances across both draws highlighted the determination, resilience and adaptability of the young grantees, who embraced the opportunity to compete on grass courts and continued to develop their games under demanding conditions.
