McHugh and Samuel Capture ITF Singles Titles in Style

It was a strong week for former grantees on the ITF World Tennis Tour, with Aidan McHugh and Toby Samuel both lifting singles trophies in the USA and Egypt.

For 25-year-old Aidan McHugh, success came at the M25 East Lansing event, where he captured his first singles title in two years. After battling back from a set down to defeat Shu Matsuoka in the opening round, the Brit found his rhythm and didn’t drop another set all week. He sealed the title, the eighth of his professional career, with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Erik Arutiunian in the final.

Meanwhile, Toby Samuel continued his impressive run of form by clinching the M15 Sharm El Sheikh crown — his third title of the 2025 season. The in-form Brit moved past Slovakia’s Michael Krajci 6-2, 6-4 in the final to extend his remarkable streak of five consecutive finals on the ITF Tour dating back to August.

Brilliant wins for both players, great to see them finishing the year strong. Well done!
