Harry Wendelken wins maiden singles challenger trophy
Harry Wendelken claimed his first ATP Challenger singles titles last week at the Hersonissos Challenger in Greece. The week started with a tough three set defeat in the second round of qualifying to former world No.39 Radu Albot, before Harry found himself in the main draw the next day as a lucky loser.
In the first two rounds Harry battle hard to come through two thriller three setters, before advancing to the quarterfinals where he had a comfortable win against Italy’s Fabrizio Andaloro 6-2, 6-0. Another straight sets victory in the semifinals moved him through to the final where he defeated Maxim Mrva 6-4, 6-3.
The win moves his ranking to a career high of No.341. A huge congratulations to Harry and his team, this is a testament to all the hard work you’ve been putting in.
