Celebrating Ken Weatherley M.B.E. : A Legacy of Dedication to British Tennis

For over 23 years, Ken Weatherley M.B.E. has been at the heart of Tennis First, helping to shape the tennis journeys of over 300 promising juniors. Thanks to his remarkable contributions, the charity has distributed over £1million to young British tennis players, many of whom have gone on to shine on the global stage. His leadership has not only propelled players to international success but has also inspired countless young people across the UK to pick up a racket and discover the joy of tennis.

Under his leadership, 21 grantees have broken into the world's top 250, a testament to his unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and inspiring future generations which will continue to shape the charity for years to come.

As a well-deserved recognition of his extraordinary service, Ken has been appointed President of Tennis First. While stepping back from his operational responsibilities, Ken will continue to lend his unique expertise to the charity, ensuring its continued success.

Exciting times lie ahead for Tennis First as we enter a new chapter. We are thrilled to announce that Abbie Probert, a seasoned member of the Tennis First team, will be stepping into the role of Director. Abbie brings with her a wealth of experience as a former tennis competitor, coach and digital marketing expert. Having supported the charity for over five years, she is perfectly positioned to build on Ken's incredible legacy and lead us forward.

Looking to the future, Tennis First is preparing to award new grants which will be announced very soon, continuing our mission to support the next generation of British champions.  We are also pleased to announce the return of our dinner at The All England Lawn Tennis Club which will be hosted on November 29th. This much-anticipated event will be a celebration of the sport we love and a chance to come together in support of the rising stars of British tennis. More details will follow in the coming month.

Please join us in celebrating the tremendous contribution Ken has made to British tennis.
