U14 Invitational, Wimbledon

For the first time ever the All England Lawn Tennis Club hosted an U14 invitational during the Championships for the very best junior international players. Players were drawn and placed in 4 round robin groups to give the youngsters the chance to test their skills on one of the biggest stages in the tennis world.

Grantees Mark Ceban, Liam Channon, Arabella Loftus and Isabelle Britton featured in this year’s event.

Isabelle won all her matches in the group stage, toughing out 2 three set matches and putting out the number 2 seed en route to the semi finals. She was also invited to meet the Duchess of Cambridge which was a huge honour and the perfect way to round off a successful week. Arabella won a match in the group stage against Mexico’s Marianne Angel. Both girls took home a lot of learnings from the event and can now say they've played at Wimbledon!

Mark celebrated 2 wins in the group stage losing out to the number one seed. Mark went on to win 2 more matches in the consolation rounds. Liam won a match in the group stage and lost out in a closely contested championship tie break in the consolation draw.

We are delighted that our grantees had the chance to play at Wimbledon and display some high levels of tennis against the best young players.
