Katie Boulter wins in San Diego

Katie Boulter claimed her first WTA 500 title on Sunday after defeating Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in the final of the San Diego Open.

Fighting back from a set down, Katie knocked out the 6th seed Kostyuk 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in a little over two hours.

This title marks Katie’s biggest WTA title of her career to date and her second of her career after winning the Rothesay Open Nottingham in 2023.

Boulter has rises to a career high of No.27 on the WTA rankings.

In her post match interview Katie remarked: “This week has been very, very special for so many different reasons. This one is pretty amazing, I've worked very hard for it, I played some incredible tennis all week. Today was a complete battle with myself as well because I was a little bit nervous. I managed to get over the line, and that I'm very proud of.”

Congratulations Katie, a fantastic achievement and we are excited for the sunshine double ahead!
