Grantees take titles in Europe

Our grantees continue to go from strength to strength on the junior circuit with Hollie Smart picking up her first ever ITF Junior singles title in Rhodes. Hollie had a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win over Paula Sviglerova in the final after winning through two rounds of qualifying to earn her spot in the main draw. Hollie is now on a 7 match winning streak and it’s worth mentioning, she is still only 14 year old!

Murray Watters made the final of the Tennis Europe U14 Cat 3 in Ponteverde, Spain. Murray battled hard from a set down in the semi-finals to turn the match around and win 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-3, before losing a close final 6-4, 7-5 against Spain’s Martin Rodriguez Pellicena. He teamed up with Sergi Ramis Coll to win the doubles event in a thrilling third set championship tiebreak 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Mark Ceban reached the final of the J30 in Horgen, Switzerland, narrowly losing out in the final 6-4, 7-5 against Yanis Peterhans.

Great to see our grantees stepping up their game and taking on high quality opponents in Europe. Keep it up!
