The best tip I can give as a parent is leave it to the Professionals - they know their stuff.

Support your child physically by ensuring they get adequate rest/sleep and a good nutritional diet. Offer emotional support -  lots of love/hugs, and most of all let them enjoy their lives, listen to them and DO NOT BECOME A PUSHY PARENT OR TRY TO  LIVE YOUR DREAMS THROUGH THEM! Life is too short for these children, they have to grow up very fast playing tennis.

The younger kids should try to keep in as many other sports as possible for as long as possible, so that they get all round development and skills.
I think it's important to mix competitions in your own age group as well as in higher age groups so that you don't lose too often while trying to develop against better players.

Technique and co-ordination from an early age is more important than just winning, as it lays your foundations for the future.

If you have a gut feeling that your players training environment is below par then get out early and look for the next level. You only have a limited window of opportunity in sport so take your chance – change it up!!
